[beitrag enthält markenanzeige/advertisement] Straw, wicker, basket weave – they’re without a doubt essentials for this season! It’s something that enhances your summer look and adds a playful touch to your favourite summer dress. Straw accessories are almost indispensable this summer. So I am now coming up with my version of a straw bag outfit.
Actually, the straw handbag was originally born as a beach accessory….
I do not consider straw bags as a timeless trend. Just a couple of years ago, I would not even think of walking around downtown with a straw bag! However, its use have gone far beyond the beach outfit …Lately, I was asking myself: when did this change occur? Well I can’t define the exact time of it, but the one thing I know for sure is, I can’t have enough of straw bags this summer!
Ecological handbags come in different versions: a round straw bag, straw basket, bags and baskets with pon pons.
It’s that natural feel mixed with those playful boho vibes – perfect accessories for a maxi dress and vintage chic style at its finest. Besides, they are also comfortable and lightweight.
For this shooting, I decided to make an experiment and grabbed the basket bag that I was using for the beach for years. However, formerly, I would never be using it for normal purposes…so I wanted to test if I can wear it with a chic dress, and not only to the beach.
It is a simpler version of the summer straw basket, remembering of a picnic one, a very essential straw basket decorated with a sweet flower. I combined it with a beautiful asymmetrical orange-colored 2 pc. Dress by Elsa Kelli (available here). In order to enhance the bohemian aspect of this outfit, I used beige-colored open plateau leather boots that also supplied a modern touch to this outfit, and a matching head band.
To me, this mixture of vintage, boho and streetstyle, shooted in one of the most fabulous locations in Hamburg – the famous Planten un Blomen garden – looks like a modern fairy-tale. Too dreamy, but ist’t it what we all want in summer? Let the fairy-tale begin…

From a simple accessory you create a great look and fantastic pictures! Well done!
