New Year 2021 Gala Trends

ad/ Although evening/gala dresses market is very conservative compared to other fashion segments, there are still trends that can be clearly observed.

The trend is going in the direction of more permissiveness, allowing a lot of provocative cutouts and open areas.
Also, the general concept is becoming more and more sophisticated. It can be either an extremely minimalistic dress or else a very “complicated” one, including, for instance, a lot of asymmetric solutions.

As for the colours in the modern evening wear, they are becoming more subdued, mostly warm, gentle tones.

Maxi-length evening dresses, often with leg cuts,  have always been – and still are – the golden standard for  festive events.

And yet, lately, a relatively new trend has originated where, instead of a classic cut, the whole skirt is asymmetric – or else – a very small, short dress is integrated into a longer evening dress. Another thinkable solution is a detachable long skirt worn over a mini dress.

This new feature provides you with the advantage of wearing both mini and maxi at the same time!

Indeed, I personally always felt wearing just a minimal length dress is “too plain”, not festive enough. At the same time, a long dress might be too classic, lacking modernity.

The solution in question allows you to make the best of both sides – and if you follow my Instagram at @tasha.city, you probably know that I am big fan of such dresses!

The ultimate trend, though, is the integration of hotpants or even underwear in an evening gown.

This new feature is currently to be observed at numerous fashion shows of top designers.

Formerly unthinkable, this bold solution is becoming increasingly popular and accepted. And of course, this is exactly my way, as you know that I am always so open for fashion forward statements!

My this year’s New Year’s Eve attire is a maxi gown with a tail in reduced gold- black colors. It has a complicated design, basically consisting of a short overall with hotpants and an asymmetric long dress in flowing black satin.

This guarantees maximum of drama as well as appeal at a Gala event! And even more so, as we are so hopeful for the coming year 2021!

Happy New Year! 🥂🥂🥂✨✨✨

Frohes neues Jahr!
