The one is the “Extreme cutout jeans trend” – jeans with extremely large statement cuts (= giant holes), exposing legs sometimes to the point of being almost not existent. Sometimes these jeans aren’t basically even jeans. You would much rather think it would be more accurate to refer to them as a “jeans carcass”. Interestingly, these pieces are retailing for really hilarious prices. I already presented a couple of such items on my blog and, as long as this trend continues, which seems to be surely the case, I will be presenting much more of this trend.
Another trend, which refers not only to denim specifically but, actually, to any pants generally, is pants with long vertical cut-outs – similar to those we often see on skirts. As a matter of fact, you treat pants the same way you would treat a long skirt.
How does this trend really feel? Is it really as ridiculous as many seem to think? Is it wearable? What are the advantages and the disadvantages of this look?
I decided to explore…
For my experiment, I took jeans pants with very high vertical cuts. To compensate for this craziness and make the whole look more elegant and conventional, I combined them with a sweet white Carmen-blouse, a jeans jacket and a pair of elegant heels.
What were my impressions? First of all I have to say, I really loved it. You feel very special and you have the opportunity of showing off your legs even if wearing pants! They swing as you walk, the same way a long skirt would do, and give you that very special feeling of making a fashion statement. Interestingly, the pants look like ordinary wide jeans from the back; the front view will be surprising for the most, I guess.
As to the question how socially acceptable such cutout jeans, or, generally, pants may be, I would say, it depends largely on the way you combine them and on the Accessories you choose. If you wear it with shoes that are elegant and moderate, not too crazy, and your whole look is harmonic and realized with reduced pastel tones, this will not be so challenging for the public (however, I don’t recommend this outfit for the office).

Es gibt so ein paar Jeanstrends, über die ich reden muss. Der eine ist der „Extreme Cutout Jeans Trend“ – Jeans mit extrem großen Statement-Ausschnitten (= Riesenlöchern), bei denen die Beine manchmal so stark exponiert sind, dass die Jeans so gut wie gar nicht existent sind. Manchmal sind diese Jeans im Grunde nicht einmal Jeans. Vielmehr würde man denken, es wäre genauer, sie als “Jeanskarkasse” zu bezeichnen. Interessanterweise werden diese Stücke um wirklich stolze Preise gehandelt. Ich habe bereits ein paar solcher Artikel in meinem Blog vorgestellt und solange dieser Trend anhält, was sicherlich der Fall zu sein scheint, werde ich viel mehr von diesem Trend präsentieren.
Ein weiterer Trend, der sich allerdings nicht nur speziell auf Denim bezieht, sondern eigentlich auf jede Hose im Allgemeinen, ist eine Hose mit langen vertikalen Ausschnitten – ähnlich wie bei Röcken. Tatsächlich behandeln Sie dabei Hosen genauso wie einen langen Rock.
Wie fühlt sich dieser Trend wirklich an? Ist es wirklich so absurd, wie manche denken? Ist es tragbar? Was sind die Vor- und Nachteile dieses Looks?

Für mein Experiment habe ich eine Jeanshose mit sehr hohen vertikalen Schnitten mitgenommen. Um diese Verrücktheit zu kompensieren und das Ganze eleganter und konventioneller aussehen zu lassen, kombinierte ich sie mit einer süßen weißen Carmen-Bluse, einer Jeansjacke und einem Paar eleganten Absätzen.
Was waren meine Eindrücke? Zuerst muss ich sagen, ich habe es wirklich geliebt. Sie fühlen sich sehr speziell und haben die Möglichkeit, Ihre Beine zu zeigen, auch wenn Sie eine Hose tragen! Die Hose schwingen beim Gehen wie ein langer Rock und geben Ihnen das besondere Gefühl, ein modisches Statement abzugeben. Interessanterweise sehen die Hosen von hinten wie gewöhnliche breite Jeans aus; Die Vorderansicht dürfte allerdings für die meisten überraschend werden.
Bei der Frage, wie sozialverträglich solche Jeans oder generell Hosen mit Ausschnitten sein können, würde ich sagen, es hängt weitgehend von der Art der Kombination und den von Ihnen gewählten Accessoires ab. Wenn Sie es mit eleganten und gemäßigten, nicht zu verrückten Schuhen tragen und Ihr gesamtes Aussehen harmonisch ist und mit reduzierten Pastelltönen realisiert wird, wird dies für die Öffentlichkeit nicht so herausfordernd sein (jedoch empfehle ich dieses Outfit nicht für das Büro).
